Inspired by the Force: The Photos of Alex Ivanov

Alex used to work as a photographer for Industrial, Light & Magic. His skills became obvious when dealing with extremely reflective objects. C-3PO, anyone?

The ROW Experience: Kids!

We’ve always had kids as visitors to Rancho Obi-Wan, even long before we were organized as a non-profit Star Wars museum in 2011: neighborhood kids, kids who are related to friends and neighbors and school kids on authorized class outings with their teachers and a few parents as chaperones.

  • What's the most important piece of advice you would give a new Star Wars fan who wants to start a collection?
  • If you were to put on a different Star Wars t-shirt each morning, how many years would it be before you needed to do the laundry?
  • Is there a Star Wars product that no one has made yet that you would like to see made?

40th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back Facebook Live Parts 1 & 2

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2020 was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Rancho Obi-Wan Experience booth was to exhibit a selection of items celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. Conceptualized by our docents, Dan Norgan and Michelle Norgan, it would have taken you on a journey from concept to screen to collectible. Here is part 1 & part 2 of a Facebook Live showcasing many of the items that would have been on exhibit, plus others we would not have been able to bring. In addition, in part 1, take a tour through our bedroom exhibit that was installed at Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017. In part 2, take a rare view of one of our back storage isles.

Inspired by The Force: The Star Wars Vault

The Star Wars Vault, published in 2007 by HarperCollins in the U.S., contained an array of reproduced, removable ephemera. These were created from scanning the original items in the collection at Rancho Obi-Wan and some from the Lucasfilm archive.
