The ROW Experience: Tours in 2008

In 2008, still many years before the thought of forming a nonprofit museum, Steve was giving tours to school kids on a regular basis. It's always given Steve great joy to share the items from his collection. Seeing the emotion on people's faces or hearing their gasps as the door opens to the museum is life-affirming.

The ROW Experience: Smiles, Games, Stuff

What is the Rancho Obi-Wan Experience? It's more a feeling. It's nostalgia, excitement, joy, fun, unique. When you come to Rancho Obi-Wan we welcome you to our home. We introduce you to our animal-friends. We walk to the back barn and look at the rolling hills; and a few outdoor Star Wars things like a full-sized Jawa Sandcrawler tread. But it really hasn't changed over the years. Steve set the tone from the very beginning.

How Star Wars, and illness, changed my life

By Wes Middleton
WP_20160315_017I was born after the release of Episode VI, Return of the Jedi, which, for all intents and purposes, means that I’ve been a Star Wars fan my entire life. I still have my late grandfather’s original VHS copies of the trilogy, which I would watch every time I was home sick from school, and I had to stay home a lot. That wasn’t because I preferred Star Wars to going to school (well, at least that wasn’t my motivation); rather, it was due to having had asthma since I was two years old. As a young child, it was pretty severe, so there were a lot of sick days.

Mystery Solved! A Tale of Snow-Swept Chewbacca, Bantha Tracks and Me

A long time ago from an Indiana farmhouse really far away, I joined the Official Star Wars Fan Club. I remember being concerned that galactic deliveries wouldn’t find their way to our Rural Route address, but my Mom assured me that if it truly was the “Official” Star Wars fan club not to worry.

Why Star Wars and Rancho Obi-Wan are Forever

Helping Anne Neumann at a Rancho event
Helping Anne Neumann at a Rancho event

Star Wars taught me at a very young age to believe in my dreams and that magic is real. So if you would have told me when I was 6 years old that someday I’d be working for a place called “Rancho Obi-Wan” that houses the world’s largest Star Wars collection…I would have believed you.
