The museum at Rancho Obi-Wan recently hosted its first wedding reception, with guests dining in splendor with a catered meal set up in front of the Art Gallery and under the watchful gaze of a giant Darth Vader.
The couple, Charmaine and Ross Cuddie from Saskatchewan, Canada, were joined by Matron of Honor and Best Man Jocelyn and Elling Haug of Alberta, Canada, and guests from the U.S., Mexico, and the U.K. Steve Sansweet, president of the nonprofit Rancho Obi-Wan, performed the outdoor ceremony across the road at Petaluma’s beautiful Lavender Bee Farm just prior to a magnificent sunset.
The guests then returned to Rancho for photos, drinks, and food. Ross is a longtime Star Wars collector with a focus on Yoda, and in the last few years Charmaine has started collecting some “cute” Princess Leia items. Their wedding cake, created by Rancho neighbor Let’s Do Cake, was topped by action figures of Han and Leia and special cupcakes had edible Star Wars toppings.
Rancho Obi-Wan is available for weddings and other group events, meetings, or parties. For specific information and pricing details, please write to info@ranchoobiwan.org. All photos by Victoria Webb Photography.
